About Holmewood

Holmewood 'Infants' School was built in 1958 and operated until 1982 when a change of use was established, covering the site to a Nursery School for up to 126 children. This gave us a fantastic site, with 3 buildings and 2 large outdoor spaces. There is also the School House at the entrance to the site.

Over the years the staff team have worked towards creating a stimulating and secure environment that draws from and reflects the rich cultural diversity of the local area.

As a local authority nursery school we offer free education places for children who are 3 and 4 years old. You can also pay to extend your child’s day  with breakfast after school provision enabling children to stay at Holmewood from 7:45am until 6.00pm. Some 2 year olds can also come to Holmewood under the Early Learning Offer. We also offer places to fee paying families with children aged 2 years and above.

You can find out more about the help available with funding your childcare on the new government website Childcare Choices.

Holmewood is one school in a federation of five with Triangle, Maytree, Effra and Ethelred Nursery Schools; known as the Lambeth Nursery Schools' Federation.  Holmewood, Effra, Ethelred and Maytree have Children's Centres which are a wonderful resource for parents/carers and their children from pre-birth right through to primary school.  These facilities are open to everyone in the local community, including you! You can view the timetable of activities here.
