Our vision and ethos

We aim for all our children and their families to take advantage of the full range of opportunities offered at the nursery school and children’s centre, to enjoy being part of our community.

We work in partnership with parents, carers and governors, to ensure all children develop:
  • towards their full potential in a child – orientated, happy and secure learning environment
  • lively enquiring minds, with a love of learning
  • the ability to question and think for themselves
  • the ability to express their thoughts and feelings
  • their imagination and a sense of beauty
  • celebrate and value diversity through self-respect, confidence, an awareness of and sensitivity to the needs, beliefs, attitudes and values of others
  • the ability to work independently and with others
  • the ability to celebrate and value their own and others’ endeavours and achievements
  • the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to grow physically, spiritually and morally
  • the ability to contribute positively to a rapidly-changing world.

We aim to achieve this through:
  • our commitment to provide equality of opportunity for everyone at our school regardless of race, class, gender, special educational needs, religion, sexual orientation, culture, disability or ability
  • highly effective leadership and management; encouraging team work and dedication from all staff
  • inclusion of all children, in a purposeful, safe, happy, stimulating and aesthetically pleasing environment
  • providing the highest standards of education through an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum
  • the appointment of skilled and experienced early year’s practitioners
  • comprehensive planning, observations and record-keeping for each child
  • creating partnerships with the children, staff, parents, carers and governors and fostering links with the wider community.
  • the efficient use of human, physical & financial resources within the school.
