Outdoor learners, explores and gardening fun
Daily outdoor provision is an important feature of our learning culture. It plays a fundamental role in helping children to engage with and learn about many aspects of life including: growth and change, the seasons, caring for the environment, keeping healthy, problem solving, being creative and having fun.
Outdoor learning, exploring and play as well as gardening are embedded in our daily provision.
Children have access to a range of outdoor areas including natural materials, green spaces, mud kitchens, sand, water, climbing, play equipment and resources.
Children explore, investigate and create using natural materials.
Children participate in a wide range of gardening activities including planting, growing and caring for flowers, fruit, vegetable and herbs.
Children are able to observe, listen and engage with all the mini beasts, birds and other wildlife that frequent our magical outdoor spaces.
We welcome and encourage parents to participate in our outdoor parent and children events.
Children at Holmewood go outside in all weathers and we have raincoats, waterproof trousers and wellington boots for all children; you are welcome to bring your own too!
