Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Children may sometimes experience difficulties or delays in areas of their development, for example, speech and language, social, emotional, behavioural, cognitive and physical difficulties.

Many of these issues will be resolved by parents/carers and practitioners working together to devise appropriate early intervention strategies. If necessary, we can obtain support and advice from a range of professionals, for example, speech therapists, educational psychologists and pediatricians. If your child has specific medical needs we will work together to ensure these needs are accommodated.

Under the guidance of our SENCo, all our staff work alongside children with special educational needs and disabilities to ensure they learn and develop at.  We have many strategies and resources to support the varying needs of our children including use of visual helpers, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), music therapy, Talking Tables and Makaton.
